It would be great on the Calendar check out that the shopping cart to the left shows you what you are buying. It says "two items" but there is no way to know what they are actually signed up to buy. See far left, but I can't get the image to upload. :(

I would like to see the ability to print shipping labels for clients without the order details. the packing list is good for the order processing workflow but is not functional as an actual mailing label. A way to select clients and batch print labels maybe 4 to a page or something like that would be great.

Minor improvement for better efficiency... especially on smartphones where it is difficult to see the"cross" button
When selecting an image for the cart, once done, you can click on the "continue shopping button", you would expect reaching the gallery, but in fact you have to close the pop-up window..
Would it be possible to avoid this second click to reach directly the gallery page?

1. Print fulfillment through BayPhoto, WHCC, or ProDPI (not a Miller's lab!)

2. We currently use 17Hats studio management software and have noticed that Sytist could do the same things with a few additions. We currently use 17Hats in the following way: First, a client inquires and we send a quote that lists all of our session package options. They choose their options and the quote is accepted/submitted. They are then automatically emailed a link to a detailed contract to sign. Once that's signed they are automatically sent to an invoice for their chosen options and they make their payment. They are then emailed more details about their specific session. The automated email feature is great because it sends reminder emails about their session and we've also set it up to send a "book your next session" email 4 months after their session (automated emails that can be assigned to different places in a workflow is critical!).

We work primarily with newborns so we first book people based on their due date. Currently, their due date gets scheduled on our calendar without a session time. Once baby is born they are given another session date with a time. So they are on our calendar 2 ways and the way we know if a session is an actual "to-do" session is if it has a time. It would be great to designate due dates in some other way on the calendar, but this absolutely needs to be a part of our booking process and calendar.

We would actually prefer to have a web page with all of our session and package options to send to an inquiry so they could just add it to their cart, pay the deposit, sign the contract, etc... Sytist could absolutely already replace the quote/list of session package options, but it wouldn't be as elegant as we'd probably like.

3. Ability to sync with Google calendar.

I second the possibility of Sytist doing what 17 hats does. We are also using it to organize workflows and client inquiries. If this was integrated in sytist it would make order processing, and the automated emailing so much easier. as well as if it could hold contracts that could be sent and signed and stored. and of course the calendar sync.

The ability to set promotional sale price on products and also on booking services, and show the customer with the sales price is and what the normal price is (i.e having the original price crossed out with a red line or x and the sale price next to the original price.)

I also agree with some other folks that it would be nice to have a way to do contracting with clients.

Can you possibly put a link on the top of the admin page for the site content we have, or give the option to add a custom button from our list of site content. I always need to go into Site Content, List All Content, and then find my Client Galleries Button. I go in here to go view the list of Client Galleries to see how many people viewed the gallery. I'd love a quicker way to access it.

Please give us dynamic row height in the Justified gallery layout. I made this request when I first purchased Sytist last December but since there has been no indication that this is being worked on I am requesting again. It may seem like a trivial thing but the whole reason I have a photography website is to showcase my photographs, photographs which I spend a lot of time editing and cropping so that they are presented exactly as I wish them to be. To have Sytist cropping images on my website, taking away that control from me, is beyond aggravating! Even worse, it looks very amateurish to me to have thumbnails where my watermark has been cut off or is cut in half because of the cropping. If it isn't clear what I am asking for please refer to my post from last December, or look at any flickr photostream to see how dynamic row heights are used to eliminate cropping.

I've asked before Tim and I'll ask again and once it's done then I'll PAY for updates, a 'feature' I didn't anticipate having to pay for when I signed up a few years ago ...
Maybe you could break the 'wishlist' into admin and sales.
Much of the update stuff seems to be admin.
Perhaps my sales model is too simple, they order by website, pay by credit card and I ship ...

But the FUNDAMENTAL of sales starts with the SELECTION of and image and the SIZE of the image
So can we PLEASE GET A DECENT cropping tool that shows the Client what the image selected will look like at a given size ?
Like Smugmug do so well.

Here again is a link to a Smugmug gallery to show you how easy it is for the Client.
And it would save me many hours writing emails noting that an 8 x 10 print would actually look significantly better as an 8 X 12 (as an example)
Then waiting for their reply.
Then finally completing the order.

Thank you,

I did a quick search for "expenses" in this thread, but didn't quite find what I'm looking for, so my apologies if someone else has already mentioned this...

I would dearly LOVE to be able to import expenses from my bank's downloadable account files. It would be unspeakably amazing if overall accounting could be tracked this way - using a bank's csv file to import and categorize info - but I'd be happy with just being able to import expenses via csv file. They could map toe existing expense fields, so they wouldn't have to be complicated (as far as my tiny programming knowledge is concerned). This would eliminate the need for accounting software (an additional expense), and I'd only have to fiddle with importing to one place instead of multiple places. A cost/time savings all the way around!

The other thing that would be absolutely super is to be able to re-arrange the admin home page. The current setup isn't quite as useful to me the way it is.

Oooh! And I have to second the ability to sync with Google calendar. That would be so sweet.

THANKS SO MUCH for Sytist, Tim! I'm moving away from photography a little bit, but Sytist is still (almost!) perfect for my next venture. I love it! :)

Hi Tim!

I would love to see some kind of barcode or label system happen in Sytist! We are a high volume school portrait company and are always looking for easier and faster ways to spit out labels for the kids' orders.

Thank you! :)

I would like a way to like another person's request for new features, this would limit the amount of these requests by making it possible to basically vote for someones suggestion.

and I would also like the barcode option, and a better upload solution, and calendar integration, and automated emails with workflow reminders.

Oh yeah and THANK YOU Tim for all your hard work and the features you are releasing to us on a regular basis.

Love the new features Tim! Now just a suggestion, would it be possible to have contract signatures hashed (SHA-256 preferred) and signed by a trusted timestamp server? This is to add a layer of security for both the client and the photographer if an issue arises that a contract was altered.

I have a list of people that have opted out of emails but I can not export a list of customers without them, now that would be beneficial, would also be great to be able to export customers as just those that have visited a gallery section

I have a section for montage approvals but I have to go in to each montage to close it, would be great to have close as an option in the section, would also be great to be able to sort these by open, awaiting attention etc.

I would like to know who my high spending customers are and I would lobve to hav a view like in photocart where I could see all the galleries and how much spent

I don't know if this has been mentioned but I would love to see list of galleries and orders on the front admin page. I don't really care to see who has what in their cart and I don't really care to see recent visitors; both are displayed so prominently there. I thought I'd be able to customize the content of the front admin page but haven't found a way to do it.

It sure would be nice to see the actual list of orders right there and the list of galleries!

Thank you for your consideration :-)

I might have asked for this before, but I would LOVE a nudge button on the shopping carts. I have about 3K in orders sitting, and people were in the middle of ordering and walked away.
I have a lot of kid portraits and people are probably trying to order during nap time and then get distracted.

A nudge button on our back end, if they are logged in, would be fantastic.
If this feature existed, I would force people to always log in before ordering.

I like the new contracts. I would also like it if there was a way to make some of the contract area like a form so say if you had information in a Model Release that needed to be added like birthdate (or something custom) that we could create inside the contract with fillable data for the Client to answer and sign.

I'd also love an area we could Add Estimates and if they are accepted.

Calendar Feature Request: along with the "Lead Time" setting, could you add an "End Time" setting?

I would like to have the available booking dates have a limit, so people can't book extremely far in advance on me. For example, right now someone could book a session for Thanksgiving day next fall (or 2 years from now) because I haven't manually blocked off the holidays yet ... it would be nice to put a limit on the over-eager clients :-)

Tim, what about the possibility of exporting a sales report that will break orders down by what category they have been assigned to?
I really need to get some analytics on how many of each type of session, and how much each type of session earned.

I also miss the amount per gallery from Photocart on the gallery list.

Thanks

Options - Still problem with the way options is set up. If i create an individual option on a print size, it charges it for every quantity they choose. For example: I offer a "add event logo" option. With the individual options, if they order 3 prints with the option box checked, it charges the option 3 times also. Please consider making an option for us to charge it for every print or only one time. I know the other way of doing options only charges the option one time, but read further for glitch with that.

Problem with the other way you can add image options (that only get charged one time). For example: If someone orders print number 1 with a "add event logo" and then would also like that same image without the logo, the cart AUTOMATICALLY adds the option for that image on all of them. BIG PROBLEM as I see this one. Example of problem..... If I add photo number 1 in my cart and choose the "add event logo" option, then I choose to select photo number 1 again and maybe order it in another size WITHOUT the logo option checked, it AUTOMATICALLY says I want that logo on everything that is photo number 1. Any time a customer chooses the SAME photo, some with options, some without, it puts the options on all of them!! That is changing their cart even if they input it correctly!! Ughh! Anytime someone orders the same photo with options I have to contact them to see if they want the option on all of them.

PLEASE PLEASE consider some changes on options. Possibly just add one more option for us to choose whether to charge it one time, or for every print, OR make it so even if they choose the same photo in another size that it won't add it to every one of that image. The old Photo Cart seemed much better on this aspect.

I also do not like that if they choose options in their shopping cart, I cannot see what options they have checked in their cart until checkout. ??
Please......

Incredible work as always Tim and team! Have a few thoughts/suggestions:

- Sidebar - currently you can enable or disable sidebar for a section and subpages, but wondering if it would be possible to have the sidebar disabled for the section page and then active for the subpages.

- Sidebar - would love to see a "multiple sidebars" feature. Similar to billboard or sections, where a sidebars can be individually created/customized then selected at the section or page level for greater variety.

- Wall Designer - possible to add canvas/print products, collections, or rooms to a specific wall designer subset, then add them to the pricelist that way? Basically the same way a product or collection is added to a priclist. Currently we find the list of canvas products (for example) very long when all sizes are in the one list.

- Wall Designer - possible to show names of collections when selecting?

- Wall Designer - could it be possible to zoom in on the entire collection, like zooming in on an individual image?

- Billboard - Possible to add a video to a billboard?

Thanks again!

Calendar request 2: more detail in the "Stats" section.
I'd like to be able to see how many of the sessions have been booked, and also the options - how many people bought the upgrade, for example. Ideally this would also be sorted or filtered by date - so I can see, for example, how many sessions I booked this month vs the same time last year.

(The first request was an end limit on open bookings so people can't book more than XX weeks in advance.)

Thank you for adding the option for contracts. I would love to see some more field options in the template to expand its functionality to be able to include things like a payment plan. If there was n option to input some calculation fields it could produce a lay-by plan for clients. Things like:

[date] populates with the current date
[ref] to be able to add a reference number special to client

some calculation fields for things like a lay-by eg:
[order total] total of lay-by plan
[deposit paid] deposit made to establish lay-by
[how many payments] how many payments / months/ the lay-by is over
[payment start date] date the first lay-by payment is due or made
[payment finish date] last payment due

I think this could be an incredible feature to add

Hi Tim,

I really love Sytist.
What I would love to see is a faster FTP upload. Would it be possible to do a ZIP upload and then Sytist un-ZIPs the file so that we can save time with the large amount of uploads. I can get a much faster upload speed when I’m doing one large file compared to uploading many small files.
Is there a PHP script that we could run in the sy-upload folder that would do this? Sort of like when we do an auto update Sytist unzips the update.
I know I can do it via C-Panel but I don't really want to be logging into that all the time.

One feature that would be an incredible is the use of better forms. I use Wufoo as a form service to create elaborate forms when customers order highly customized products, specifically wedding albums. Each album has many options, upgrades, prices - so using Wufoo I can create powerful forms that are simple step-by-step and have shipping and checkout at the end. There is a lot of rules like "If THIS than show option #2" "if THIS is checked than skip to question #6", these rules that make the form an awesome ordering tool for in-person sales. The results get converted into a document that I can reference anytime I need it.

The only issue I have with Wufoo is it is super clunky when embedded into the website (frames). I would love something that works seamlessly in Sytist without embedded frames and code ruining my design.

With the recent notice that my free upgrade period expired I think I'll bump my feature request up again.

I have absolutely no problem to pay for updates for Sytist as it is a tremendous piece of software. I don't use any of the new features added in the last year or so (like greenscreen, wall designer and what not) but if it helps others, I am happy.

The feature I am desperately longing for until this very day would be the possibility to set up a multilanguage site. It was requested several times now and for me it is something fundamental that alone would justify the expense of a year of upgrades. Please Tim, consider it deeply. I don't know how much work it is but as Sytist is such a useful tool even outside native English countries with no competition whatsoever it would make the lives of us Europeans so much easier!

I would like to see a way that when I am in a category that I have my galleries in that you are able to add Shipping to the batch edit feature. I do a lot of preschools, so I add the page/category of the school and then put each child's gallery under the category. At the end of the deadline period I raise the prices and do not offer the packages to be dropped off at the school. They have to have the order sent to their house. So when I batch edit I can change the price list but I would have to go to each individual gallery to change the shipping. I hope that this makes sense.

Feature request: Improvements for managing mass school/nursery orders.

Option to link new invoice to gallery/sub gallery

Scenario:
4 active nurseries with 4 overlapping periods open for order and 100 orders placed at each.

In processing orders I go to the stats page of a nursery gallery and click to view purchases to process each order for printing.

Bespoke orders invoiced privately are not connected to the stats page of a gallery.
After missing some orders and being unable to find them in the main orders section (containing several hundred open orders), for example via a null in a gallery column, I keep a separate spreadsheet of the order number and gallery for bespoke orders.

@ James Burrill

James, if I understand you correctly then I've set up a school as a gallery and a child as a sub gallery. When the order deadline expires, I change the price list and shipping on the gallery and it applies that to all sub galleries.
The exception is if any sub galleries have had their defaults overridden to take on a special price list and shipping parameters rather than to simply inherit from the parent folder.

I really like the # of free downloads per gallery. I use this to incentivize my followers to create accounts. I would like a way to clean/delete credit card info from old orders in bulk. There are too many orders to go through 1 by 1 to make sure it gets deleted. Perhaps you could make an admin screen that would list which orders still have card info assigned to them and provide a checkbox to delete the info similar to how the "Batch Edit Selected Pages" feature works?

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

it would be great to have the opportunity (maybe with enable, disable button) to show the captions of the images in the gallery's.
As press photographer, I use my site to deliver pictures to newspapers, etc. and they search for names of players, teams, etc.. A lot of the times they have a search result of different people and they have to open every picture to see who's on it. If the caption is directly shown under the picture (can also be after the search is done) it would be much quicker to get the right picture.

Your program is already fantastic, but If this would be possible, it would be great!

Thank you!

I like the new Gift card option, however I would like to have a gift certificate option instead. Communist California has all sorts of regulations on gift cards and I would like to see a Gift Certificate instead. One because it is legally to have an expiration date and two there is no reimbursement under $10 at clients request.

Hello Tim,

Thank you for the timely eGift Card function.

I have a request - as there is no minimum amount, can we please have incorporated the ability to add a minimum value so that customers/clients can choose upwards of a certain value? As an example, if the minimum was from the lowest stated eGift Card value, that would be great.

Also, I second Jesse Johnson's request re the ability to upload a transparent (png) or jpg background would be fab.

Thanks
