I would like for you to devise a way to compile all orders from a setting in one report. That way, I can have the total number of orders for each image number, instead of having to look at different reports and compiling my own report. This would help minimize mistakes in compilation. I am sure other photographers could benefit from this feature as well. For example, if you have three different families ordering from one photo shoot, it would make ordering a lot easier.

Features I am missing from Photo Cart....

1.) Baby/Wedding Registries for clients to give out to their friends and family to help pay for sessions.
2.) Reports on what items off the products lists are selling more than others. So an itemized list of all items that have sold for the year.

Thanks, Tim!

I have my galleries organised by type such as

Site Content > Galleries > Equestrian >

and the separate events have their own pages

I know I can export a list of who has viewed each page but it would be great to export at the Equestrian level

Erika, there is already a registry system in Sytist:
http://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/articles/registries/

And when you view the products in your Product Base, it will show you the total sold.

Would love the ability to send a cart "nudge" - reminder to clients. I have a bunch of clients with Shopping carts loaded to the top, but no one is buying! Would love to send an automated email after a set number of days that says "Don't forget you still have your shopping cart " or something like that.

I have one client just sitting on a slew of spending a lot of money and I want it!! :)

EXPORT TXT FILE of orders

I would really like to be able to export a list of orders. Not all the orders for a time period. Orders filtered by order status, or orders by page/gallery sold (i.e. when you go from page sold totals, to the list of orders).

The spreadsheet could include any information from the order that is at the order level - i.e. Customer Name, Billing Address, Shipping Address, Payment status, order status, shipping date, Tracking number, sub total, discount, sales tax, total sale, cog. etc.

This file would be used for multiple things.
1. To create shipping labels. List can be imported into label creating programs to create shipping labels. Currently I hand copy and paste each field. As you suggested I contacted other people that use the software and asked how they do this and no one had a good way. All agreed a spreadsheet would really help.
2. To total the sales outstanding - sometimes I need to know how many dollars in sales are outstanding to ship (gives me an idea of my COG outstanding)
3. Kick backs to leagues/schools etc. I provide my leagues a list of who purchases and their basket totals as a verification that I am paying them the correct amount. Also use this to create my check.
4. Sometimes I need a summary of what is outstanding for orders by status, but I don't need all the detail the order print out provides.
5. I used to have this feature and used it all the time.... These are only a couple uses.

Would also be nice if the spreadsheet included the page/gallery the sales came from or the one where the highest percentage came from.

FILTER ORDERS that are OPEN

In the orders tab - would love to have the option to view orders that have the tag "open" only. Currently the option is to see all "open orders" or those that have been assigned to other status, but there is no way to view "unassigned" or those that have not had the status changed - the ones that show status as "open". This could just be displayed on the left menu with the other statuses as "Open or unassigned" along with the other statuses.

My business process has been to review an order and then place it in the appropriate status. The order being in a status means I have started a process. There is no way for me to view orders that have not been assigned to a status (or in my case started) When there are thousands of orders in "open" I would like to be able to check to see if something has not been moved to a status. I used to also use the spreadsheet in the previous post for this.

I need to be able to follow up on carts for users that are not logged in. I need clients to be able to see the prices, but then prompt that you must be logged in to add items to your cart.

Please add an option to view pricing when not logged, but must be logged in to add to cart.

I am hoping this is on your TO DO list.

Thanks Tim

I would like the ability for me to add comments to pages on project proofing. Sometimes we need to add comments or notes against requested revisions - at the moment we have to add this onto the e-mail. It would be so much better if we could add the notes on an image by image basis.

Hi Tim!

I dont know if you guys have already talked this but I was wondering if you could add "see only client selections" in the proofing area. Sometimes I have over 700 images and scrolling through all of them to get the approve selections is a bit annoying. Again, if some how I have missed this feature please let me know :) Thanks.

(may have posted in wrong place, sorry)

I feel like these 2 issues are the only thing really holding this product from being one of the best photographer behind the scenes must haves in the biz. Please consider.

To be able to have an email subscription form which will allow me to send out specials and notifications with new blog posts. This would be great for promoting sessions and discounts and drumming up a customer base and following. When a customer signs up for their account an option to get emails, newsletter and so on. Or when a customer first comes to the website allowing a pop up option to sign up for discounts, subscriptions, newsletters and blog info.

Pricing options that allow separating prices and are collapsible within a group.
For example....
Price List 1:
Fine Art Prints: (arrow here to expand or collapse)
5x7
8x10
11x14
Fine Art Metal Prints: (arrow here to expand or collapse)
5x7
8x10
11x14
Fine Art Canvas:(arrow here to expand or collapse)
5x7
8x10
11x14
Add Ons & Products: (arrow here to expand or collapse)
Coasters
Key Chains
Acrylic Magnets

Not sure where the product options went, but it would be nice to add products to a price group as well.
For senior session I can add key chains, for school sessions, acrylic magnets and so on.

It would be amazing if we would be able to add additional credit for each option we create on a product.

Base Product = $50 Credit

OPTION 1
--- Sub-option 1 = No Credit
--- Sub-option 2 = No Credit
--- Sub-option 3 = $50 Credit
______________________________
Total Credit of Base Product with Option 1 (Sub-option 3) = $100 if purchased.

This shouldn't be too complex to implement, but would open so many possibilities for us to create awesome packages as well as sell discounted credit if purchased ahead of time, etc.

EDIT: Also, the fact that there is sub-option for each product option is awesome. And all sub options should have a credit field attached!

Here is a screenshot of how it could look like for maximum simplicity: http://alomia.ca/sy-photos/2015/12/30/10/large_cd47caeb8_Option_1_w_3_SUB-OPTIONS.png

If there is one request I could make of Sytist it would be a tweak in how the current Justified layout is generated. Rather than the current method of setting a fixed row height, I would like to see Sytist dynamically generate varying row heights and photo widths to display all of the photos in a gallery with no cropping. After spending the last month preparing my new Sytist site this is pretty much the only thing I miss about my old site. With my old site you specified a minimum row height between 60 and 400 pixels (I used 250), that way row heights would not drop below the specified threshold but they could range between that number and the maximum in order to make everything fit. If this could be incorporated into Sytist it would be fantastic, maybe giving us the option of either fixed heights as it is now or minimum heights.

Here's an example of how it looked on my old site, all four rows are being displayed at slightly different heights (with corresponding differences in image widths), everything fits and there is no cropping:

The current Sytist method for comparison, lots of cropping as can be seen by my cropped watermarks in the top row of photos:

Most of the time the effect was fairly subtle as in the example above. Sometimes it could be more dramatic (which I personally liked):

I agree with Garry Hamilton on the following

I would love to see a calendar based booking system feature in the sytist application.
1. This would enable a potential client to check the availability of and book a photographer for their event.
with online payment for retainer fee.
2. Allow a photographer to track their bookings, time and set their availability

I have a client that had items in their cart favorites bucket and wanted to buy "All" of them. She kept clicking the "Buy all button" and was very annoyed it meant buy the entire batch from the gallery just not the 30 she selected.

I think to fix this, you could do two "buy all favorites" button and a "Buy all in gallery" button.

I spent two days telling her to stop clicking BUY ALL. :)

I would love to have the minimum order by gallery back as we did in Photocart. I have a client that needs to spend more than my minimum amount based on a special agreement, but I hate having to make an entire new price list just for her. Also, when you change price lists in a shopping cart (I have one of my base price lists with and without a minimum order) then I have to clear their cart and reinput everything in their cart if I change their price list to the no minimum order one. I sometimes have to do this if a client is ordering cards or announcements in a hurry and the rest of their order later on. Thanks Tim!

Ursuala one of the things you can do with Sytist is make it a pay to view gallery and give them credit on their account so if Minimum spend is $500 you charge $500 to view and give them $500 credit

Hi Tim, we're still learning how Sytist works but so far it's great! Thanks!

One thing that would be huge: changing photo size options at the photo upload stage.

We use different photo sizes depending on the type of job to prevent image theft. For weddings we do larger files since they already have the hi-res files; for schools, we make them very small and watermarked. Instead of changing the default size settings each time, it would be nice if we could pick sizes on the photo upload page.

One other minor thing: we don't use many of the options on the Gallery page, but one thing we need is the Page Link. Right now it's hidden under More Options. It would be nice if it was displayed up top, say under the description, so you don't have to click on anything. Or maybe an option to re-arrange the options? Haha maybe that's too much.
Also, our site uses an SSL cert, so all links must be https, but the page link displays a http URL. Not sure if that can be changed as an option.

Hi Tim,
A request I have in the project proofing department is for the client to be able to leave a message with the Approval. I use it for album design and it is working well but if the client is happy with the design but would like to request something retouched they need to send me an email at the moment. (I only retouch the images when the design is approved)

Hope this makes sence.

The Photo display options for display Galleries (not selling Client Galleries) aren't very good, unless I'm missing something.

The Slideshow option is ok, but an option to have a row of small thumbnails at the bottom, for quick navigation, would be nice.

Standard Photo on page w minis in closer to what I'm looking for, but you can only put the minis on the left, not the bottom or right. Weird. And using the minis to navigate is useless, because you see the photo once you mouse-over a mini - clicking doesn't make a permanent switch to that photo, as it should. You have to leave your mouse over a mini to see it.

I would like to have a big red "Unpaid" message in the "view orders" page.

The message is there when you view the page which displays all the open orders but my workflow is to open the oldest open order, and then click the "newer" link which takes me to the next page. I don't always look whether it is paid or not and end up preparing photos for clients who haven't paid. A red sign would alert me straight away.

**Customer export**
I would like to have the option to "order by" any of the selected fields - such as "company" "city" state" as I use the exported data to generate targeted email campaigns.
Even better would be to integrate a Mailchimp API to pull customer information and keep my Mailchimp database in sync with my Sytist.

I don't know if this has been already requested or not, but could a preference be added to change the size of fonts (ie make smaller) when using the editor on iPads or other tablets? At present interface font size is fixed and this makes it incredibly clunky if trying to edit one's site using a tablet, running either iOS or Android.

Cheers!

I would love an easier way to sell digitals. I currently use another site for my digital sales where I can just upload and then email a pin # for download. Would love to have it easier or similar to this on Sytist. It is also confusing for customers when they purchase digitals, (I'm not sure why, but not everyone is as smart as we are ;) ) PIN numbers for downloading would be amazing.

If there is already an easier way to do it, let me know :) Thanks!!!

"Work List" from Photocart.
While the packing slip option is similar, I always used the "check boxes" provided on the Work List in photocart to check off my products when filling an order.
I believe this is a VALUABLE option that has not been included in Sytist

Hi all...
I am just about to renew my subscription to: www.stickyalbums.com (remove if not appriate)
And it got me thinking... can this not be done in Sytist? After all it is only a Web page based on a template?
It could save me a bit of money each year and then even more of a reason to pay for my sytist subscription... (that is amazing value!)
Please let me know... so i know where I am going to put my money this month ;)

Hi Tim

I want to be able to allow my customers to download a certain amount of images.
I was thinking along the lines of creating a coupon that would allow X no. of downloads,
This would enable me to email customers thanking them for their recent print purchase, As a thank you please use the coupon code which will allow you X no of downloads.

Thanks

Sytist has really become a great tool for me, I am liking it a lot, so thank you!

As Aaron mentioned above, I also really miss the old photocart "Work List". I feel like I am wasting so much ink and paper as I print out these packing slips to fill my orders. I really need the total number of prints/images at the top of the work page again (as with photocart) so that I can recheck that when filling their order. Also, I've always wished that it also listed the total number of 4x6's, 5x7's, etc.

One thing I am having a problem with, is that I have some digital file packages created, and as they fill their package with their images, it is not listing which SUB gallery it is from. It lists the page and the main gallery, but not the sub gallery. I am dealing with literally thousands of candid photos, and it is really hard to find what sub gallery they are coming from. All my other regular print orders are working fine.

Thank you!

Excellent continued work Tim! Here's a few thoughts:

Multiple sidebars - Something useful for those with multiple genres in their site. The sidebar is excellent, so now ho about having multiples available? Create a new sidebar name, load it with widgets like normally, and have the option to select which sidebar to use at the category or page level. It seems like the framework you have could do this easily.

Alternate files - So far only jpgs can be added to galleries, and other files can be added to the misc files section. I would love to see the addition of uploading things like PDFs, PNGs, and TIFs through the regular upload interface. Not necessarily to view, but to be a download space for customers. We currently use dropbox for sharing files, but to have everything stored for customers in one area on sytist would be convenient now that they are used to the system!

Gallery sort - Would like to have the option of "sort by name ascending" for a gallery. It can be set on the page, but not the page defaults. If you could add the sort options that exist at the page level to the defaults, that would be great!

Editable forms for customers - The forms section is excellent in how customisable it is. I have thought about using it as a detailed document for wedding contracts, but means it has to be done in one shot. We would love it to be editable after the fact. Say, have it set on a page that a customer can come back to to change it, almost like an online document. Then have the corresponding database on the admin side.

Duplicate page - Thank you very much for responding to this! Hopefully you can implement the duplication of subgalleries and their options along with the pages!

Thank you for the continued support on this excellent product!

Kind of a variation of the green-screen feature you already have; could you find a way to let clients drop photos into a template? Single image templates would be wonderful -- with the magnificent dream of a multi-image template some day in the future.

We could design PNG files of photo borders with a center cut-out for events, for example, and then use a variation of the green-screen system you already have to allow a preview of a client's own photo inside the overlay.

(Nod to Michael Milner for having a similar idea, posted in October 2015.)

I'm moving from photocart to Sytist (finally) as it now provides some great features that I can use. But the first thing that I've tested has now put me off - the upload process. It seems slow, and I've no idea what's happening under the covers.

I think that there needs to be an asynchronous upload process, rather than keeping a browser window open - and better feedback on the process of the upload (3 of 5670 processed) Googling around a bit turned this up http://symcbean.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/php-and-long-running-processes.html

So upload starts a separate php process, and allows you to keep working on your site. And your site should stay more responsive to customer requests. It would also mean you could create an api of sorts to initiate the upload process remotely after the ftp transfer is finished.

When replacing the photos on an order with the edited photos for the customer, I would like to be able to upload all of the edited files in one go - exactly the same way that you can overwrite/replace images when uploading to a gallery. I want to be able to do this and replace the photos on the order only.

My process is to upload all photos into a gallery in low resolution, mostly unedited - and then edit them (after purchase) and upload the high resolution file to the order only.

Perhaps there is already a simple workaround? I understand I can replace the photos in the actual gallery, but I'm not sure if that's ideal. Any thoughts?
