I would love Stripe Terminal integration.

Taking payments when they are on premise would do so much for my business!

Never mind, I went with square terminal instead.

I use as little as possible sending emails via sityst because many end up in spam.
it would be convenient to have a button on the order page to copy the customer's email to the clipboard, so as to have it ready to paste into another email management program

what I would like is different from the function already present in an order when you have the possibility to replace the photos INDIVIDUALLY and then send an email that notifies you of the photos ready for download. so it takes a long time to replace each single photo.
it would be very useful not only to have the "download photo" button to have "upload photos" within the single order.
this function should:
1) have the computer select all the files, definitive, color corrected, etc.
2) upload these photos to our hosting space in a folder named as the order number
3) create a link that can be used by sityst to send an email and that can also be copied into memory to be pasted into external email programs.

we then choose how long to leave them on our hosting and delete them via ftp after a certain amount of time.

I would gladly pay for this feature

I used the possibility to translate the single words thanks to the "page text" in my language.
if it were exportable I would make it available for new customers from my country.
if it were exportable it would quickly create multilanguage sityst, even if in an unofficial way

Ability to reorder the photos in a gallery that has subgalleries without having to go into each subgallery seperately. I want to just reorder the main gallery and have the subs follow it automatically like they do with all other settings. For example, at a horse show I have a subgallery for each contestant (there are hundreds of contestants).

I use mac to upload, so I understand there is a glitch with the Apple upload file order system and sytist where the files upload out of order. I understand that I have to use the reorder option after I've uploaded the show, and I'm OK with that, it's not a big deal for just one gallery. But to do EACH subgallery separately, is way too much work/time if there are several hundred contestants.

Please add filters for viewing and listing our orders.

Listing orders by date (in the 'REPORTS' section) is helpful, but quite limited. With more filters the data would become vastly more useful.

For example:
- How many people bought our 'Download All' product in 2021? (Filter by product and date range.)
- Show all orders placed with the 'Early Bird' discount (Filter by Early Bird or on sale status)
- List all orders over $500 (Filter by dollar value)
- Show only orders paid through PayPal (filter by payment type)

Tools like this would make a huge difference in figuring out what products are selling well and what strategies are effective.

Thanks for considering.

I'd like to see these 2 settings added to "Photo Display Settings" so that when a photo is enlarged, we are not stuck with black screens and full white text/icons.

https://www.picturespro.com/forummemberphotos/3680/3680-220503114404.jpg

I did a temporary fix by adding some "Additional CSS", it's brute force, but it works for now.

Extra CSS:
.simpleview { background: #3A3A3A !important; }
.simpleviewnav .the-icons { font-size: 48px; font-weight: 100; color: #6A6A6A !important; text-shadow: none; }
.sssnav .the-icons { font-size: 27px; font-weight: 100; color: #6A6A6A !important; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px rgba(0,0,0,.7); }

Thanks

We need the option to HIDE the summary bar on the admin home page that displays the "sales this month" and "YTD" total for non-admin users. We give our customer service team access to the orders tab so they can help customers place and manage orders. We just don't want any summary to be visible on the home page. An option to hide that entirely would be helpful.

I am always stumped on the booking calendar for travel time to a shoot.

If someone books me at 5PM, and the location is 45 minutes away, I want to block out an HOUR before the shoot. So they booked 5, but the calendar blocks out 4PM and 5PM and 6PM (from booking length) for booking. That way I am not booking back to back.

My current work around is after someone books, to go in and manually add "travel time" and block my calendar so I don't end up with two shoots in two different locations. Sometimes I forget and people book on top of each other and I am an hour away from the next shoot,

I know we have the "booking length" pull down, wonder if we can just duplicate that to be "travel time buffer" and add on time to each booking page? It seems like it would be super easy to add, it would just be a bit of code that adds time before the shoot to cancel out the slots for booking.

See my attached photo as what I dream of that would make this the BEST update ever :) I love your software! :)

Different Account Requirements download - print

Customers often point out to me that when buying digital files that I send by email, they have to fill in many fields and provide personal data that is not useful for download (home address etc)

I think they are right.

If I add a download to the cart, just ask for an email as required, otherwise if I add prints you need an address, name, surname, etc.

a third column in the account requirement page referring to digital downloads, and thus being able to manage accounts, prints, digital downloads differently

Hi Tim,

I've been trying to workshop the same problem for 3yrs and it the following could be possible I think it would be amazing please.

As always, i'm looking for a fix for "2 galleries, 1 customer" and to make it as easy as possible for them because gosh people are hard work.

What i'd love to be able to utilise is something like the "Require a selection from this group before the can select products from other groups"
But basically, the first group is one child, and after they have selected, the next group allows them access to subgallery B - their 2nd child/gallery.

You must select first for Photos A-K before you can unlock photos L-Z ...

I currently use two passcodes but I lose sales with the flipping in and out because people get frustrated.

This way, they would order their main pack, ( aaa222 ) and subsequently then unlock bbb333 in a single gallery transaction.

Not sure if possible but after working on this particular problem now for 3years I remain forever hopeful!

I think the customer experience of ‘Choosing a photo and product and adding to the cart’ needs an overhaul.

Especially when adding images to a collection.

I do lots of school photography and the amount of phone calls and emails I get from customers saying that it’s far too complicated and can they just order over the phone instead.

Once you get your head around it, yes it’s manageable, but my customers are hitting it once and it needs to be as simple as possible.

It’s not very self explanatory or pleasing on the eye.

I’ve been looking at other competitors websites and they are so much better. They have features like drag and drop for example.
So they choose a print pack and they drag and drop the thumbnails into the print sizes they want. This is just one of many ways it can be improved.

You know there’s something wrong when I have to make a YouTube video showing customers how to place an order.

It should be the easiest thing in the world without taking a second thought.

^^ I enquired about this in 2020 for same reasons :) Drag and Drop would be awesome and yes, less clunky.

I know it can be done in Sytist as it's actually already set up in the wall designer section - where i've got my wall on the left and i'm choosing and plonking pics from the right into my "chosen package" .

So much more intuitive!

Sub Categories for expenses. This would help organize your expenses a lot more. I'm starting to run into issues where I have a few similar expenses but yet they're different enough that I need a separate label but now everything is clustered.

I'm now running advertisements. I don't want to just categorize them as Advertisements, because I want to know how much I'm spending on Facebook, how much I'm spending on Google, etc. So I'm breaking them all down to that level, but now I have four different categories with no parent to keep them in line.

I'd like the option to charge for added additional fields at checkout (https://www.picturespro.com/sytist-manual/articles/how-to-add-additional-fields-at-checkout/). Use case is tips for photographers. Also, I could make a special cart-only option that could be a last-minute add-on to marginally increase orders. Anyone who has ordered anything from Vistaprint knows what I mean... "act now and get DOUBLE your business card order for a measly $X dollars." Yes, salesly, but I'm not into eating Ramen.

Adding to Todd and others regarding additional data being sent to Square:

If you could pass order data to Square like Sytist order, any CRM like HubSpot with a Square integration could use Square as a conduit to get Sytist information into the CRM without any special API work. A friend of mine uses Square for her Santa setup because it's ultra-fast for on-site workflow, and she has to sync data from Sytist to her CRM manually.

Seconding at least the Sytist order number being sent as part of the new Square payments integration because right now we have to search for transactions to refund in Square using the order date and time. No doubt the end-game solution would be ability to refund natively from Sytist admin.

Apologies for piling on here, Tim, but I'm not positive that when I edit a post, it's easy to see the update...

After talking over the concept to make chargeable line items at checkout (added additional fields) with my friend (same one actually with the HubSpot connection), she suggested - very insightfully - we repurpose shipping to achieve what we're looking for: it's the only variable charge that is determined at checkout. It occurs to me that if you could just allow people to add multiple shipping charges, you could probably reuse almost all the same code to achieve what we're looking for. I will also say it was her idea to route through Square to get to HubSpot... she's very smart :)

Anyway, labs have rush fee options that charge a percentage of order at checkout, so having a second charge at same time of shipping definitely has a precedent. I have long thought about charging my own clients a rush fee if they want to pay for it... even if it never gets used and cuts down on the asks. Point is: if I could just either stack charges in the shipping section or if I could make an extra step during checkout between My Cart and shipping that was just shipping but rebranded as some other only-at-checkout product / service that worked with either a dollar amount or percentage, it would be perfect for what we need.

My photographers really appreciated it when I started allowing our teams to collect tips, and I bet it would be a big hit as a feature update because most of the people collecting the tips would be the Sytist cart owners themselves: the photographer cum studio owners. You bet I would upgrade to the next major Sytist release ASAP if it meant I could easily accept tips!!!

+ Plus One for Michael's suggestions above - adding "would you like fries with that" at checkout - "Wait! Before you go ( special offer )" .. I do this within the packages to great success but there's a few specific things that would be better at checkout :)

given the lack of a feedback module in sityst I am trying external services such as TRUSTPILOT, it seems to me well done and with good reputation and reliability.
unfortunately it is not directly integrable in sityst as with the various CRM prestashop, woocommerce, shopify, magento etc etc, but it can be integrated starting from the fill-in-the-order email that sitys sends.
to do this you would need a CCN field to be added to the order confirmation emails.
automatic translation sorry you mistakes

Would it be possible to add a feature to help prevent possible GDPR errors when printing order picking lists?

I like to include a picking list with the orders sent to customers. On busy days, I go to the orders page, tick "select all" and then print the orders with prices and thumbnails. My problem is that I have a double sided printer and on short orders, I get two different orders on the same sheet of paper. This could potentially cause me a GDPR violation if I fail to notice and ship the picking list to one client, with another's on the flip side.

Would it be possible to add a feature to ensure that single page picking lists have a blank "second page" added to help me from making this mistake?

Hi Tim,

Would it be possible to make hero photos's vertical height size the same, both in the web and mobile site versions?

Say if I choose to design my site with a smaller narrower vertical height, the mobile version of the site will follow the web version, to have a narrower vertical height. Right now I can only see the full size photo in my mobile site.

This will opens up a whole lot more design opportunities, thank you!

Would love the ability to assign a custom price list to an account (already possible), but be able to set a date on that individual account in which that assigned custom price list changes back to "no custom price list." Sort of like how in gallery price lists you can set it to change to an alternate on X-X-XXXX date.
We do pre-sales on downloads in which we allow people to do unlimited downloads set amount of time after the event (by assigning a custom price list to accounts that pre-ordered with a $0.00 download product for the download). It would be helpful to be able to just set a date where it changes back automatically instead of having to sift through the list of accounts and individually change them back on the set day of expiration. :)

I would love it when you make days unavailable if you could pick different colors to notify you why you blocked out a day.

So on my calendar I sometimes block out dates for rain days and sometimes I block them out for personal days

When looking at the calendar-I’d love to have two color options of unavailable days. Right now it’s pink- would
Love to see black as an option

Like if I had the ability I would have the color black so that I know it’s an absolute no go to book.

Sometimes I forget that I blocked it out because I’m going somewhere and I take the unavailable off ????

I love my sytist so much?? Thank you for

Go Fund Me Feature Requests.

I think we can all agree that Tim has done a wonderful job with Sytist, which continues to evolve and grow. I have, by far, the best website out of all my competitors in my area with more features than I can even use.

We enjoy very reasonable pricing (which I would still like to continue to enjoy), but the trade-off is the resources available for development and new features. It's clear to me that a huge part of Tim's time must just be keeping the website up to date with php, http, css and all the other things that make up the internet that never stand still. There are enhancements all the time which I'm thrilled and happy to get, but, how can I prioritize the enhancements that I want the most?

Being photographers, we don't have the budgets to commission costly enhancements - but there are a lot of us and perhaps we can join together to share the burden and give Tim extra resources to develop something specific, or something that a small group of people want that might not necessarily be for everyone and therefore not part of the planned enhancements.

I don't know if this would even be agreeable to Tim, but, perhaps a go fund me style features request where he approves ideas that are feasible and compatible and puts a price on them. Once completed they get added to the base product whether you contributed or not. I would be willing to pay a small fee to submit the idea to avoid it being flooded and remunerate Tim's time just to consider it.

I wouldn't see this as replacing the already great updates he gives us, but hopefully just to supplement it giving him the resources he needs to make extra things happen.

While I don't want to get too into the weeds as he might already think this idea is terrible, having a fixed time period per suggestion and being refunded with account credit (that can be used for another year of service, or other suggestions via the go fund me style system) would be perfectly acceptable to me. I also wouldn't mind being refunded after transaction fees which we all know and love. I would even love to see the top 10 suggestions on my sytist admin page so I don't miss the opportunity to invest in any great ideas....

Great ideas Elizabeth!!

Or: an upvote/downvote system so Tim can see what peeps find important? Then at crunchtime/when it becomes viable, we can tip in.

For eg, I could UPvote your suggestion, but I could DOWNvote ( or ignore ) the American holiday idea as I am not in the US and this is meaningless to me.

Also, a little OT, but I thought this thread had died - it used to be pinned to the top of the page!

In the booking calendar, can we get a new field for Location? I have a script setup to allow for calendar exports to my Outlook and Apple Calendars via an ICS file, but really need to know where the client and I have decided on for the location. Having a location field, I can export that field in the ICS so that my phone tells me how long of a drive and alerts me early enough to get to the location needed.

It took me forever to find this thread - it used to be pinned to the top of the forum, is it no longer being used, or did it accidentally fall off the top??

Anyway, I know it's been raised by many in other threads, but if we could have a way to track ( unused ) credits, that would be ace.
Firstly, to prompt people to use them in bulk, before they expire, and secondly, at the end of the year, to clear the slate and not have them roll over.

I had someone randomly roll over 4yrs of unused credits this year, which was quite the hit - basically I worked for them for 4yrs for free. I'm usually very good at tediously tracking them manually, but I have 100 new clients every week and it's pretty much just me on admin and i'm also out in the field. I'm very thinly spread and this would help enormously!

Thankyou!

Hi, I would really love for there to be an option to enter location in the booking calendar and for it to calculate the miles from me and add a travel cost. So I would set my location and cost per mile and then the client would be charged. I cover a wide area so it makes quite a difference.
