Desktop And Mobile Version Difference

In the car page I have an image which works well for a mobile but when viewed on a desktop it seems smaller. I f I change the size of the image the opposite happens.
Is there a way to fix this?

It's because things adjust to the screen size. Larger screen you will have something to the right that gets moved below on smaller screens.

That makes sense but I have seen examples of Sytist galleries where it isn't an issue like Michael Leenheer's website for example
