HI Tim. Is there a reason that clients aren't being charged tax on our digital only package? Can you help us figure out what needs to be changed in order to have clients pay the tax? Also strange - one parent ordered TWO of our digital packages (two different kids) and it DID charge tax. Screen shot of our package is attached. Thank you!!

Thanks Tim.

Where do I find the "settings" tab that you have shown a screenshot of within the link you shared?

Also - do we HAVE to require ppl to make an account in order for the digitals to be taxed? (I prefer not to make ppl do these extra steps).

FYI - our other packages are charging tax (they include prints and aren't digital only).

Main menu, Settings -> Account Requirements.

They don't have to create an account. But you need to ask for the state in order for tax to be calculated.

Settings -> Account Requirements. State (and Country for VAT) must be selected in order for tax to be calculated. So if someone is only ordering downloads and Download Only Orders is not checked for state, then it has nothing to calculate tax on.

The "Download Only Orders" option will only display the selected fields when someone is just purchasing download products. So basically you can disable the unselected fields for download only orders.

hi , I had a issue a few years ago.  The issue was charging tax on downloads. My state does no charge tax on digital goods. So before charging tax on downloads I would verify your state charges tax on digital goods and avoid a whole lot of refunds.
