Hi,

I'm struggling with setting up the early bird discount correctly. I need sytist to calculate discount after tax. I'm only finding options to calculate tax before or after discount.

Thanks

Settings -> Tax. Those are the only options.

So you would set it to calculate tax before discounts. The tax would be on the total amount then the discount calculated.

This is discounting the amount before tax, but then adding tax on the amount before discount.

Is this a bug? An american practice? Or is my setup wrong?

The proper way to do it in Norway (and I think europe in general) would be PRICE+TAX=SUM then SUM-DISCOUNT. Is this possible?

It is not discounting the tax. The discount is based on the amount without tax. There is not an option to calculate tax then create a discount on the tax amount.

Would you consider adding this?

Anyone outside the US have a work around?

According to this on GOV.UK,

Charging VAT on discounts
For basic discounts (for example, a 20% off discount), charge VAT on the discounted price.

I understand that to apply the discount then calculate the VAT on the discounted price.

If you have a resource that explains it differently, let me know.
