Sytist 5.0 Upgrade Now Available

This upgrade includes a required update to PayPal checkout. PayPal made changes to the integration of PayPal checkout that will make it stop working after July 31, 2024. If you are using PayPal Checkout you will need to upgrade your Sytist to 5.0+ by then.

Some of the things in the upgrade include:

• Added the ability to move sub galleries into other galleries / sub galleries Learn more
• Added a sort orders functionality when viewing orders from a gallery. Sort by payment method, shipping method, coupon used or not, date range,  etc....  Learn more
• Added the option for Paid Access & Paid Gallery Extensions to be taxable. Also added a batch option to set  these in the Site Content area underneath the left menu. 

• Added the QR reading functionality to the Watch Folder option. 
• Added the option with the rearrange photos after upload that contain sub galleries (Settings ->  Photo Settings) and also to the Resort Upload option in the gallery to sort by date taken instead of filename. 
• Added when replacing a photo on an order that has customer cropping, removing the crop preview of the replaced photo.

• Added an option to set a Canonical URL in Settings -> Metadata
• Added the option to create booking service specific coupons that will only apply to that booking server. Coupon tab when editing a booking service.

How to update:
The first time each day you log into the admin it will check for the update and if one is available you will have a notice in blue on your Sytist admin homepage

If you have already logged into your admin today, then you won't get the notice until tomorrow. Or you can click Settings in the main menu then UNDERNEATH the left menu click check for update.

I was wondering about the "collection within collection" problem where the message says "your collection is complete" when the package involves several collections, leading to confusion.  You were looking into it April/May and I think you said it would be next update?

I currently have frozen my most expensive collections because of this, or am doing manual workarounds and am keen to have people buying them again - thanks :)

For the taxable gallery extensions, can we set the default behaviour in the category settings for new galleries, or do they have to be set manually each time one is created?

I appreciated the batch update for the exisiting galleries.

It will use the settings of the of the most recent gallery in that section. 

So if they last gallery created has gallery extension taxable, the new gallery you create in that section will automatically be set to taxable.

Hi Tim! We're having a little trouble with the order sorting on the new update :-( 

We're finding it harder to view Open orders not assigned? The old system allowed us to basically filter to only see those not assigned orders, but the new system doesn't seem to filter them? It shows how many there are, but not just the ones we need.

Unless we're doing something wrong!

For those who don't want to upgrade, are we going to receive a patch for the Paypal integration or just simply SOL?

I'm on 4.7.3 and haven't really seen anything newly released that makes me see the need to upgrade as it nothing really pertains to what I do, etc. But now as of July 31 my PayPal integration will stop working and I'll be forced to upgrade simply for that...I mean, at no fault of your own of course, but hopefully you can issue a patch to all your existing customers so no one is being forced into upgrading either.

There is no patch for that.

Upgrading isn't just for new features but also renewing support. 

Hi Tim,  we're having the same issue.  I can filter any other status using this, except 'open orders not assigned,  it just shows  all open orders if I filter from Open

If I select 'open not assigned' from any other status,  it resets the selection back to the previous status. 

Running 5.0.2 - updated in last 7 days.

It is resolved for the next version. To fix it now:

•  download this zip file.
• Unzip the file
• Upload the included order.menu.galleries.php file it into the sy-admin/store/orders folder on your website overwriting the existing one either with your FTP program or the file manager in your hosting control panel.
  

I have not upgraded yet, and just wanted to note PayPal integration is still working oddly. So just for anyone curious.
