After adding items to the cart, the Checkout button goes back to the home page. Same thing with the Log In and Create Account buttons.

The problem is that the "ctype" functions are not enabled in the PHP configuration on your hosting any more.
You will need to contact your hosting company support and ask them to add the ctype functions to the PHP configuration.
