Paying Twice For Downloads In Your Demo Gallery
I love the new setup for adding photos to collections! This is a wonderful improvement for the customers' experience.
I also like how they can add the options when putting a photo in their cart; but I was wondering if there's a way to prevent multiple purchases of a download.
For example, in your 'School Kids' sample gallery you can see what I mean. I added the "Collection Limiting Poses" to my cart, and then added the first photo (cute kid!) to the 8x10" and clicked the $10 download option. BUT when I add the 5x7" print, I can buy the same download again from the same image. There's no indication I already asked for it.
Customers aren't always going to notice this, especially if they make a few changes before finalizing their order. How could you warn them or prevent them from buying the same download twice?
Vance, I'm talking about how it is implemented in Tim's demo gallery:
https://www.sytist.net/clients/school-kids/
As you can see in the photos below, the client would have paid twice for a "web resolution download" of the same image, and there would be no reminder or warning of that.
Micheal, i was there and now i see what you mean, This is something he probably just over looked, good catch, there may or may not be a simple fix for it.
Hi Tim, I thought I'd bump this as clients can still buy the same download more than once, there is no indication that it was already added to their package.
Hi Michael, I just looked at his again. The easiest solution for now if you are limiting poses is to select the largest print size and allow a download with that print size only. I see that Tim did not have the download option for the 4x6's. The other option is to setup your collection with print credits to be used after the first order is placed. yes it may be a little more work for the customer but they will not be overcharged. But I do agree with you it would be nice if the system checked to see if that image was already selected for download.
