Drop Down Menu On Forms

I have noticed there are differences when creating a drop down menu. When you build it in FORMS, you have unlimited lines you can use as drop down choices. But when your using it for a price list under "Additional Order Options" you are limited to 8 options. Also when using a new option in stores you are again limited to only 8 options. is there a way to not have this limit in place?

I am trying to build a form on a transaction so that a student name can be credited to the transaction (we have around 25 names we want on a dropdown). We are helping a school with a fundraiser and having a drop down of names on the transaction would be great so we know which student referred the purchaser.

When you save and re-edit you get an additional 8 option slots. It is unlimited.
