When I edit my theme (e.g. additional CSS or any other change) then save changes, it directs me to a blank page, and here's what is in the URL bar: mysite.com/clients/webaccess/theme-edit.php
(Sytist installed in a subdir of main website called "clients")
Any clues?

Most likely it is triggering mod security on the server. You can ask your host to see if you are triggering it and if so whitelist the rule you are triggering.

Thanks Tim - I am the web host as well (using ISPConfig). Will look into this.

Just in case somebody else gets this, I fixed my blank page (which also shows as 500 error in developer console) by installing missing PHP modules:
php-curl <-- installing this fixed it, however I also needed:
php-xml
Note that these are not listed under site requirements (as of date of this post).

cURL is pretty standard. But yes, not having it will cause a few issues.
