Attention

If your Photo Cart is suddenly getting a 500 error or only displaying a blank page then you or your hosting company has updated the PHP (programming language) to PHP 7 which Photo Cart is not compatible with (and will not be compatible with) mainly because of the removal of the my_sql functions which are replaced with my_sqli functions.

You would need to have the PHP version downgraded to 5.6 in order for Photo Cart to work. If downgrading the PHP doesn't work then you may have to update Photo Cart to the last version of 7. Download Photo Cart 7 upgrade files. Upgrade instructions.

Photo Cart was retired in 2015. Check out Sytist.

Unable To Connect To The Databaseaccess Denied For User

Hello,

I would greatly appreciate any help as I have made a bit of a mess of my photo cart. Last week whilst doing a bit of house cleaning with my domains, I managed to completely delete the domain that I was using for photocart. Not a great idea!

Since then I have gone back through all the installation information (which I was lucky enough to have a friend help me with) and have tried to get the old link to work and also to install a new one.

I have created a new subdomain for photocart to live under, made a new database and entered all the information in the setup.php. Checked it about 10 times. I have changed permissions to 777. Yet I am still at a loss and when I try and get to the next step, I get the following information....

Photo Cart 5 Database setup
Current path to this file: /homepages/24/d254664260/htdocs/clients
Document root: /kunden/homepages/24/d254664260/htdocs/clients
Register globals: Off
Post Max Size: 8M
Memory Limit: 60M
Set up database tables.
Be sure you have edited the setup.php file with the correct database information. If you have most likely you will see a button below that says "Create Tables".

If you see an error message instead, then you do not have the correct database information entered or do not have folder permissions set.

Checking to see if the following folders are writable:
/homepages/24/d254664260/htdocs/clients/photos writable - good!

Unable to connect to the databaseAccess denied for user 'dbo588013003'@'212.227.66.247' (using password: YES)

Anyone who has any idea what I need to do next would be amazing!

Thanks, Laura

I don't really have an answer.

Since your slate is blank, this might be a great time for you to upgrade to photocart 7. Remember photocart upgrade is free if you can still get it.
I suggest paying the $ 45 install fee, it is worth the peace of mind knowing it will be right.

The username wouldn't be 'dbo588013003'@'212.227.66.247' ... it would just be dbo588013003
