Qr Direct Scan - Gallery Needs To Be 'published' And Other Questions...

Hi.

Having a little play with the QR code system and have a few queries.  To start, and the most pressing issue for us ....

- why do galleries require a status of 'publish' to be viewed with a direct code scan but not if manually entered?  We always leave galleries as 'draft' to avoid them being listed publicly (which we would never want).

- How is csv data assigned to an image in the system?  The reason I ask is that schools will always require the pupil ID image in an exact format (e.g. 600x400, <50KB in size etc) and, very importantly, filenamed with their student ID number (e.g. 001234.jpg).  Is this facility going to be available in a future update perhaps?

I'll keep testing...

Thanks Tim.

Sorry - one more q.  Love the passcodes being encoded within the URL!  However, Can the direct, straight to images, QR scan on a phone system possibly be used for other passcode methods apart from QR codes?  We have a workflow based on the filename -passcode- hyphen method.  The reason I ask is that we use our own system of printed QR codes that are given to parents, and we currently require parents to go to our website and manually input their code shown on their sheet of paper.  But we know that the first thing parents do is scan the QR code and are expecting to be taken 'somewhere' thanks to COVID.

It appears that it can.

Using the url/?mypasscode=passcode works across passcodes methods, but again, only if the gallery is set to 'published'.

Hmm, we can therefore use this url resolving in other ways if the requirement for the gallery to be 'published' is changed to 'draft' also.

So they don't access the gallery before it is ready. They will scan and it would just say no photos found. I am not going to change this.

If you don't want your galleries listed on the site, edit the section your galleries are in and go to Layouts -> Page Listing Layouts -> and set " items to show per page" to 0.

I see, thanks Tim.  The option to 'do not list pages in this section' also appears to have the same effect.  Will continue to see how we can integrate this new system with our current workflow.

Will there be an option to select, download and rename (from the earlier .csv uploaded data) pupil ID images in the future possibly?
